A new academic article by PCMR Director Filip Sommer for the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies discusses the Iraqi Shi’a political scene, looking in particular at the classification of the main Shi’a political actors.

Tomáš Kaválek’s Dissertation “Comparative Analysis of PKK Insurgencies in the Middle East in 2004-18”
Tomáš Kaválek of Prague Centre for Middle East Relations (PCMR) of CEVRO Institute defended his dissertation “Comparative Analysis of PKK Insurgencies in the Middle East in 2004-18: Examining Conditions for Insurgent Behaviour” and was awarded Ph.D. in Political Science at Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno.

Launching of Prague Centre for Middle East Relations (PCMR)
Prague Centre for Middle East Relations (PCMR) was established in September 2019 as an internal research and education institution of the CEVRO Institute. PCMR is based in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Its main aim is to further enhance in-depth understanding of the contemporary political, security, social and economic developments in the Middle East.
